So ... where and how did it all start?
With decades of experience in field sales and delivering bespoke services, we’ve always thrived in customer-focused roles – selling products and services, collaborating with people from all walks of life, identifying features and benefits, truly listening to the client, presenting, crafting ideal solutions, evolving strategies, and always adding our own unique ‘spin’ to every idea. Phew!
Fast forward to 2019: we set up a company providing services to the public. Part of the business plan? A website, of course.
We started looking for website developers – but wow, the costs were staggering. A professionally built site would have swallowed a huge chunk of our investment, and we had no idea if we’d see a return. We were quoted for anything from single-page sites to five-page sites. A single page just wouldn’t carry our message, and anything beyond a two-page site was financially out of reach.
So, we put on our thinking caps and rolled up our sleeves to build it ourselves. It was tough – a real labour of love – because we didn’t want it to look DIY. The result? Our clients frequently praised how informative and professional the site looked. Some even asked if we could develop a site for their business.
And that’s how Wild Pear began.
We know we won’t be everyone’s cup of tea – but looking back, in 2019, Wild Pear would have been the perfect solution for the website needs of our small services business.
What’s with the name?
Wild Pear is a small beach tucked away on the UK coast, often described as a hidden gem. And that’s exactly how we see our business.
